Special Education Teacher - Des Plaines, IL

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (LBS1) in Illinois
• Experience supporting students with diverse disabilities, both 1:1 and in classroom groups
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Adaptability and commitment to student-centered instruction across K-12 grade levels

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and interventions to students according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop, update, and maintain IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment fostering growth and confidence
• Partner with general educators, support staff, and families to ensure consistency and advocacy for student needs
