Special Education Teacher - Des Plaines, IL

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification is required
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education capacity preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, parents, and support staff
• Ability to adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities
• Develop, modify, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers for student success
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Engage regularly with families to provide updates and gather input on student growth
• Maintain a well-managed classroom conducive to learning and personal development
