Special Education Teacher | Des Plaines, Illinois

A Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time contract opportunity, working 35 hours per week from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, located near Des Plaines, IL. Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience teaching elementary students, especially within grades 3-5
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Passion for nurturing a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction in a self-contained classroom for students in grades 3-5
• Modify curriculum to meet each student’s unique learning needs
• Create and adapt lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP goals
• Assess student progress and regularly communicate updates to families and team members
• Cultivate an encouraging and safe space for learning and growth
• Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and parents to optimize student outcomes
• Maintain compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements
