Seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to make a positive difference in the lives of elementary students. This is an onsite, full-time contract opportunity situated near Destrehan, LA, for the upcoming school year. You will support students at the elementary level, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs within a supportive school environment.

Your expertise will ensure that every student receives tailored educational experiences that foster growth and achievement. The ideal candidate will have flexibility to support a range of special education settings and an eagerness to work collaboratively with other educators and families.

Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Educator Certificate required
  • Preference for candidates holding a Special Education Educator Certificate
  • Will also consider those with an Elementary 1-5 Certificate
  • Experience working with elementary-age students strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working in any special education setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with varying needs in the special education program
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Track and report student progress, making instructional adjustments as necessary
  • Foster an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and school staff to support student success
