Special Education Teacher in Detroit, MI

This in-person role focuses on creating and managing individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborating with fellow educators to promote student achievement.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education (SPED) Certification with appropriate endorsement
• Previous experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to commit to a full-time, onsite schedule for the entire 26/27 school year

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, adapt, and deliver meaningful instruction to meet each student’s unique needs
• Develop, update, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide both direct instruction and support within the general education setting as appropriate
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Maintain thorough records and complete all required documentation in a timely manner
