Special Education Teacher in Detroit, MI

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification in Michigan)
• Experience teaching students with disabilities in K-12 settings preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs tailored to meet the individual needs of students
• Differentiate instruction and create engaging, accessible lesson plans
• Foster a positive classroom environment that supports student growth and self-advocacy
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families for effective student support
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal outcomes
