Make a real impact working with bright young minds as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary K-1 ACT 18 ASD classroom. This contract position offers the opportunity to support students at a critical stage of their development, surrounded by a highly collaborative team. You will lead a small class of 7–8 students with the assistance of three paraprofessionals, ensuring individualized attention and robust support for each child’s growth.
You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary support team—including speech, social work, occupational therapy, and an ASD coach—creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. The classroom features a brand-new curriculum ready for you to implement, allowing you to focus on adapting lessons and strategies to best suit your students’ needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid elementary teaching certification required
- ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) certification for K–1 essential
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in elementary settings
- Ability to collaborate with support personnel and paraprofessionals
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn new curriculum materials and adaptive technologies
- Commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom for students with ASD
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to a small group of K–1 students with ASD
- Collaborate daily with three dedicated paraprofessionals
