Special Education Teacher - Detroit, MI

The ideal candidate for this contract role will bring expertise and passion to a middle school resource classroom, helping foster growth and resilience in students with special needs. Based in Garden City, Michigan and located near Detroit, you will work collaboratively within the school community to ensure every child receives the support they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students individually and in small groups, adapting lessons to diverse learning needs.
• Implement and monitor IEPs, ensuring that accommodations and academic interventions are effective.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to promote student progress.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date IEP documentation and data on student growth.
• Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment while managing behavioral and learning interventions.

Qualifications:

• Michigan teaching certification or eligibility for a district-supported permit.
• Interim teaching certificate holders may be considered, pending approval.
• Experience in a resource classroom or with special education strongly preferred.
• Confident understanding of differentiated instruction and solid IEP management abilities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
