Qualifications & Experience Needed:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged children; background with non-verbal students preferred
• Confidence managing behaviors, especially with students exhibiting self-injurious actions
• Strong communication skills and an adaptable, patient teaching approach
• Ability to design and implement individualized instructional strategies

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, individualized special education services within the student’s home
• Develop and adapt lesson plans based on assessment and the student’s unique needs
• Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports
• Foster a safe, encouraging environment that promotes student growth
• Collaborate as needed with district staff, family, and any support personnel
• Keep thorough documentation of progress and maintained records
