Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
- Active state teaching certification in Special Education
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged children with cognitive impairments and/or significant autism preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and behavior intervention strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Flexible and patient approach to teaching diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student abilities and design tailored lesson plans based on individual needs
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Establish a positive, inclusive, and predictable classroom environment
- Work closely with families, therapists, and other educators to ensure consistent support
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events
