Special Education Teacher - Dorchester, Massachusetts

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting 2nd and 3rd grade students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments. This onsite, full-time contract position provides the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team at a welcoming school community located near Dorchester, MA. With a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00AM-2:30PM, you’ll have the chance to develop strong connections with your students and provide tailored instruction that helps them thrive.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid Massachusetts licensure/certification in Moderate or Severe Disabilities (active and in good standing)
• Previous school-based experience in special education
• Comfortable working with elementary caseloads, specifically 2nd and 3rd graders with developmental or intellectual disabilities
• Ability to provide support and differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and team members
• Willingness and ability to complete a CORI background check and fingerprinting; letter of suitability from a prior employer may be considered for fingerprinting requirements
• Ready to interview via Zoom for a smooth and prompt hiring process

Key responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and manage IEPs for a caseload of elementary students
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers and special education staff
• Maintain documentation, reporting, and communication for student progress and compliance
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning as needed
