Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting 2nd and 3rd grade students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments in a dedicated school setting near Dorchester, MA. This full-time, onsite role begins as soon as possible and is expected to run through June 25, 2026. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 2:30PM, allowing you to make a genuine impact every day during the academic year.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid and active Massachusetts teaching license in Moderate or Severe Disabilities.
- Prior experience working in a school setting, specifically with students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments.
- Thorough understanding of special education protocols, materials, and individualized instruction.
- Willingness to complete CORI check and fingerprinting; candidates with a letter of suitability from a previous employer for fingerprints may be considered.
- Strong classroom management and collaboration abilities.
- Comfort with a Zoom interview process.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to meet the unique needs of 2nd and 3rd grade students within special education caseloads.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to promote student engagement and growth.
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families.
- Document progress and maintain compliance with IEP goals and state/federal regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive, positive learning environment.
