Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Special Education Teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working with elementary-age students, particularly in self-contained settings
- Versatility in supporting students with a spectrum of abilities from mild to severe needs
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside paraprofessionals, administrators, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral support within a self-contained classroom
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure the best outcomes for all students
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to keep them informed of student growth
- Foster a positive atmosphere where all students feel valued and empowered
