Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current Special Education Teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience working with elementary-age students, particularly in self-contained settings
  • Versatility in supporting students with a spectrum of abilities from mild to severe needs
  • Strong collaboration skills to work alongside paraprofessionals, administrators, and families
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral support within a self-contained classroom
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure the best outcomes for all students
  • Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff to keep them informed of student growth
  • Foster a positive atmosphere where all students feel valued and empowered
