Soliant is seeking multiple qualified Special Education Teachers for full-time positions supporting elementary students during the 2026–2027 school year.

These opportunities are ideal for dedicated special education professionals who are passionate about supporting students with a range of behavioral and educational needs in a structured, self-contained classroom environment.

Assignment Details

Position: Special Education Teacher
Schedule: Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Grade Levels: Elementary, Grades K–5
Setting: Self-Contained Special Education Classrooms
Support Staff: Paraprofessionals are present in the classroom
Student Needs: Mild to moderate and moderate to severe behavioral needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction to elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting.
  • Develop and implement individualized instruction based on student academic, behavioral, and educational needs.
  • Support students with mild to moderate and moderate to severe behavioral needs.
  • Implement classroom routines, behavioral strategies, and individualized supports to promote student success.
  • Develop and monitor IEP goals and maintain appropriate documentation of student progress.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals to provide consistent classroom and student support.
  • Work closely with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, and related service providers.
  • Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries within the school environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for the state of Delaware.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
  • Experience supporting students with behavioral needs preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a self-contained classroom environment.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience teaching students in grades K–5.
  • Experience working with students with mild to moderate and/or moderate to severe behavioral needs.
  • Experience working in a self-contained special education classroom.
  • Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  • Experience collaborating with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary school teams.
  • Strong behavioral intervention and classroom management skills.
