Special Education Teacher - Dover, Pennsylvania

Make a difference every day by supporting students in a dynamic educational setting as a Special Education Teacher. This contract position extends through late May 2027 and involves guiding students in Autistic Support classrooms, where dedicated PCA support is available. You’ll be based at a well-resourced learning center, working alongside passionate colleagues to nurture student growth and success.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate is required
• Experience or educational background in Special Education
• Ability to engage and motivate students in Autistic Support environments
• Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborative mindset for working with paraprofessionals and support staff
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Commitment to ongoing professional development

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction in Autistic Support classrooms with support from PCAs
• Develop, adapt, and evaluate lesson plans and instructional materials
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, administrators, and families
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and fulfill special education compliance requirements
• Uphold all school, state, and federal guidelines related to special education

Position Details & Schedule:

• Contract runs ASAP through May 27, 2027
• Hours are 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• Full onsite presence required throughout assignment
