Make a difference every day by supporting students in a dynamic educational setting as a Special Education Teacher. This contract position extends through late May 2027 and involves guiding students in Autistic Support classrooms, where dedicated PCA support is available. You’ll be based at a well-resourced learning center, working alongside passionate colleagues to nurture student growth and success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate is required
- Experience or educational background in Special Education
- Ability to engage and motivate students in Autistic Support environments
- Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborative mindset for working with paraprofessionals and support staff
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction in Autistic Support classrooms with support from PCAs
- Develop, adapt, and evaluate lesson plans and instructional materials
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, administrators, and families
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and fulfill special education compliance requirements
- Uphold all school, state, and federal guidelines related to special education
Position Details & Schedule:
- Contract runs ASAP through May 27, 2027
- Hours are 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM
- Full onsite presence required throughout assignment
