Special Education Teacher | Dover, Pennsylvania

Make a meaningful impact supporting students in specialized classrooms by providing quality education and innovative guidance as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity spans the 2026/2027 school year, beginning as soon as possible and concluding May 27, 2027. The role is based in a dedicated educational environment focused on autistic support, with ample classroom assistance from Personal Care Assistants (PCAs).

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Pennsylvania teaching certificate (required)
• Experience working in special education, specifically with students on the autism spectrum (preferred)
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
• Strong communication abilities for interaction with students, families, and staff

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver specialized instruction in line with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with PCAs and instructional staff to implement effective support strategies
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet unique student needs
• Track and document student progress, providing regular updates to families and school teams
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to program planning
• Maintain a structured classroom environment focused on skill development and positive behavior
• Monitor student safety and well-being throughout the school day
