Step into an impactful role supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher with two available positions—one focused on Autistic Support, the other on Learning Support—for grades K–5. This is a contract opportunity beginning as soon as possible, extending through June 2027, and offering 37.5 hours per week in a welcoming and inclusive educational environment located near Dover, PA.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Instructional I or II Pennsylvania Special Education Teacher certification, or on track to receive it soon (emergency licenses not accepted)
- Experience or strong interest in elementary special education, specifically autistic support or learning support settings
- Familiarity with IEP writing, case management, and direct instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging classroom for diverse learners
- Strong organizational skills with attention to IEP deadlines and compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of elementary students requiring specialized support services
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in coordination with school staff and families
- Provide direct instruction using evidence-based strategies targeting each student’s unique learning style
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to enhance student outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and complete documentation according to local, state, and federal special education regulations
This contract position offers a competitive hourly rate between $38 and $54, providing flexibility and long-term stability. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to students’ growth while working in a diverse and dynamic elementary school community.
