Take on a rewarding full-time contract role focused on empowering students with emotional impairments. In this position, you’ll work closely with a dedicated group of up to 12 students, sharing 4 with nearby high schools. Classroom size is kept intentionally small—never more than 8 students at a time, depending on daily attendance—allowing for meaningful, individualized instruction. You will also have para support in the classroom to help ensure students’ success.
Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be essential in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher with Emotional Impairment endorsement
- Previous classroom or caseload experience working with students facing emotional challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt lessons and behavioral supports to meet diverse individual needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
- Foster a structured, supportive classroom focused on emotional growth and academic achievement
- Collaborate with local high schools and support staff to ensure seamless student transitions
- Maintain open communication with families and service providers
- Utilize para support effectively to maximize student participation and growth
