A rewarding opportunity awaits experienced Special Education Teachers interested in supporting high school students in the Easton and Centreville, MD area and surrounding communities. This contract position runs from August 17, 2026, through June 18, 2027, offering full-time employment at 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Work hours follow a variable schedule between 7:25 am and 2:30 pm, depending on campus rotation. Enjoy a consistent 7-hour workday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, allowing for a balanced professional routine.
In this role, you’ll join a vibrant inclusion setting, co-teaching alongside a General Education Teacher to deliver dynamic instruction and targeted interventions for students with diverse needs. Resource programs include Read 180, iSPIRE, Bridges, and Orton-Gillingham, with the flexibility to tailor approaches based on specific student requirements. Case management for IEPs is integral, as is participation in IEP meetings (typically held on Tuesdays).
Ideal candidates possess:
- Valid Maryland Special Education Teacher Certification (MD SPED)
- Experience in an inclusion/resource environment with high school-aged students
- Familiarity with intervention programs such as Read 180, iSPIRE, Bridges, and Orton-Gillingham (or willingness to learn)
- Strong skills in collaborating and co-teaching with General Education partners
- Commitment to designing, implementing, and assessing individualized plans
- Excellent organizational abilities for IEP case management and timely data collection
