This contract opportunity offers the chance to work full-time, Monday through Friday, in a dynamic school environment, closely collaborating with dedicated educators and service providers.
Your focus will be on serving students with a range of disabilities, predominantly Other Health Impairment (OHI), learning disabilities, autism, and language impairments. Caseloads are typically around 10-15 students at any given time, but flexibility and adaptability are essential. Most services will be delivered within the general education classroom, emphasizing inclusion and collaborative support.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students
- Proven ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Experience adapting to shifting caseloads and varying student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and classroom-based support for students with disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs in alignment with district and state guidelines
- Monitor student progress and modify instruction as needed for optimal outcomes
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
