Make an immediate difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting their growth and success as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work full-time, Monday through Friday, in a dynamic school environment, closely collaborating with dedicated educators and service providers.

Your focus will be on serving students with a range of disabilities, predominantly Other Health Impairment (OHI), learning disabilities, autism, and language impairments. Caseloads are typically around 10-15 students at any given time, but flexibility and adaptability are essential. Most services will be delivered within the general education classroom, emphasizing inclusion and collaborative support.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students
  • Proven ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Experience adapting to shifting caseloads and varying student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and classroom-based support for students with disabilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
  • Develop, review, and implement IEPs in alignment with district and state guidelines
  • Monitor student progress and modify instruction as needed for optimal outcomes
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and needs
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
