This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support an onsite, elementary site-based program focusing on behavior and cross-categorical needs. The position is based in Burnsville, MN, and runs from January 5 through June 4, 2026, with a 37.5-hour workweek.
Responsibilities include working with a caseload of approximately 8-10 students who primarily require behavioral support, many with Emotional Behavioral Disorders. The teacher will implement behavior strategies, develop and follow behavior plans, maintain classroom structures and routines, and provide strong instruction. Collaboration with both special education and general education colleagues is essential, as is coordinating and working alongside paraprofessionals to support student needs.
Qualified candidates will possess a valid Minnesota Teaching Credential with endorsement in one or more of the following areas:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Disabilities
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (optional, not required)
Ideal candidates demonstrate excellent attendance, strong problem-solving skills related to behavior, and the ability to create supportive, structured learning environments tailored to students' individual needs.
