Elementary Special Education Teacher in Eden Prairie, MN

An in-person special education teaching position is available to support an elementary social-emotional learning classroom in Eden Prairie, MN. This role focuses on behavior support and fostering social-emotional growth for a diverse group of students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 12 students, primarily with autism and emotional or behavioral disorders
• Collaborate with two assigned paraprofessional supports to deliver effective classroom instruction
• Implement structured routines and behavior regulation strategies tailored to student needs
• Promote social-emotional skill development through targeted interventions and supports
• Develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) according to student goals and progress
• Maintain consistent communication with families, staff, and administrators regarding student progress and needs

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license or certification in special education
• Proven experience in behavior support within a school setting
• Strong knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and emotional/behavioral challenges
• Ability to design and implement social-emotional learning curricula
• Effective collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary teams
• Patience, adaptability, and commitment to student-centered instruction
