An in-person special education teaching position is available to support an elementary social-emotional learning classroom in Eden Prairie, MN. This role focuses on behavior support and fostering social-emotional growth for a diverse group of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 12 students, primarily with autism and emotional or behavioral disorders
- Collaborate with two assigned paraprofessional supports to deliver effective classroom instruction
- Implement structured routines and behavior regulation strategies tailored to student needs
- Promote social-emotional skill development through targeted interventions and supports
- Develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) according to student goals and progress
- Maintain consistent communication with families, staff, and administrators regarding student progress and needs
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license or certification in special education
- Proven experience in behavior support within a school setting
- Strong knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and emotional/behavioral challenges
- Ability to design and implement social-emotional learning curricula
- Effective collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary teams
- Patience, adaptability, and commitment to student-centered instruction
