Make a real difference supporting students as a Special Education Teacher focusing on behavioral strategies and individualized support in an engaging contract role available for the 2026–2027 academic year. Multiple positions are open for skilled professionals passionate about creating positive, inclusive, and effective learning environments. These roles are located onsite and span middle school resource teaching as well as center-based programs specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD).
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching Credential with at least one of the following:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Disabilities
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (optional, covers multiple disability areas)
- Proven expertise with behavior strategies and strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attendance record and organizational skills
- Solid knowledge of behavior plans, classroom structures, routines, and instructional practices
- Demonstrated collaboration skills with both special education and general education colleagues
- Experience scheduling and working alongside paraprofessionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support in middle school resource classrooms and/or center-based programs (ASD or DCD focus)
- Implement and manage individualized education and behavior plans
- Develop classroom structures and routines to foster student growth
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and fellow educators to deliver comprehensive support
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress with families and team members
