Special Education Teacher | Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Make a meaningful difference supporting students across K-12 as a Special Education Teacher with expertise in Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD). This contract position offers the opportunity to work onsite as an itinerant support resource—helping create inclusive, accessible learning environments around the Eden Prairie and New Hope area.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education licensure with Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with physical impairments or health conditions across K-12 settings
• Proficiency in evaluating student needs, adapting curriculum, and utilizing assistive technology
• Skill in writing, implementing, and tracking individualized education plans (IEPs) and conducting due process management
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational and physical therapists and general educators
• Excellent organizational, communication, and consultation abilities
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and accessible learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer consultation and guidance on curriculum modifications, classroom accessibility, and integration of assistive technologies to general education staff
• Conduct thorough functional evaluations and ensure due process compliance through timely IEP development, student assessments, and documentation
• Travel between sites to provide itinerant services, supporting student success and accessibility at multiple locations
• Monitor student progress regularly, adjust interventions as needed, and communicate clearly with school staff and families
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care and learning opportunities for students
• Maintain confidential records and meet compliance standards within established timelines
