Special Education Teacher | Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Step into a vital role supporting K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher with an emphasis on students who are physically impaired. This rewarding, school-based contract position begins in late August 2026 and runs through May 2027, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working closely with a dedicated team.

The primary focus is providing itinerant support—consulting on modifying curricula and classroom spaces, recommending or implementing assistive technology, and ensuring accessibility for all students. Due process management is central: the position involves conducting thorough functional evaluations, developing and updating individualized education plans (IEPs), and tracking student goals and progress. Strong collaboration is essential, working hand-in-hand with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and classroom educators to ensure each student’s learning experience is comprehensive and tailored.

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

• Active Minnesota teaching license with a Special Education (SPED) certification and a Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement.
• Prior experience working within K-12 settings, preferably as an itinerant or consultation-based special educator.
• Strong understanding of due process, including IEP writing and documentation.
• Proficiency with evaluating classroom accessibility and implementing assistive technology.
• Collaborative spirit when partnering with multidisciplinary support teams.
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and staff.
