Apply NowSeeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher passionate about supporting high school students in grades 9–12. This contract opportunity provides the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. You’ll join a collaborative team at the high school level, working with a caseload of approximately 15 students while partnering with fellow educators and related services staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License in Special Education is required
- Experience developing, writing, and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills to coordinate with related services (OT, PT, Speech, etc.)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment for high school-aged students
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individual needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for students in grades 9–12 with varied educational requirements
- Prepare and deliver personalized lesson plans within the framework of IEPs
- Conduct progress assessments, attend IEP meetings, and maintain documentation
- Communicate regularly with families and other educational professionals
- Manage a caseload of 15 students, ensuring all receive appropriate services and supports
- Maintain compliance with all state and district policies
Position Details:
- 7.25-hour workday (Monday through Friday)
- 30-minute unpaid lunch daily
- Typical start time is around 7:30 AM, with the school day ending near 3:30 PM
- Located in a high school setting
