Special Education Teacher in Edison, NJ

Special Education professionals with a passion for empowering young learners are needed for a fulfilling contract position serving elementary students in the Edison, NJ area. This exciting opportunity spans the entire school year, with a schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, working across multiple locations to support a diverse caseload of 30 to 40 students.

This role requires travel between four nearby schools, with a home base assignment for collaboration and planning. The successful candidate will have a strong background in special education, adept at conducting thorough student evaluations and developing individualized education plans.

Qualifications:

• Current NJ Special Education or Learning Disability Teacher Certification required
• Experience working in elementary school settings with diverse student needs
• Previous involvement in evaluations and case management a must
• Familiarity with New Jersey technology certification preferred
• Ability to adapt and travel between assigned locations within the district

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with varying educational needs
• Conduct comprehensive student assessments and evaluations
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure student success
• Maintain organized records and support compliance with district and state guidelines
