Special Education Teacher in Edwards, CO

This contract opportunity seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with mild to moderate needs in a collaborative and inclusive classroom. You’ll play a vital role in the academic, social, and behavioral growth of young learners, working closely with a supportive team and a manageable caseload of around 20 students.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for Colorado licensure)
• Proven experience supporting elementary students with mild to moderate disabilities
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Energetic, compassionate, and adaptable approach to teaching

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver individualized instruction and interventions as outlined in student IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to ensure inclusive and supportive learning environments
• Assess student progress, maintain updated records, and participate in IEP meetings
• Engage families and caregivers as partners in their child’s education
• Promote a safe, encouraging, and respectful classroom culture
• Uphold compliance with all district, state, and federal regulations relating to Special Education
