Special Education Teacher - Elgin, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact as a Full-Time Special Education Teacher supporting students during the Crucial School Year (CSY) program. This contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate, innovate, and guide young learners ages 3–22 who have active Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and a range of emotional and learning needs.

As the Special Education Teacher, you’ll work closely with a diverse team to deliver tailored instruction and interventions. Your role ensures each student receives the academic and behavioral supports they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, specialized instruction in line with each student’s IEP goals
• Implement evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions for students with a variety of disabilities
• Collaborate effectively with related service providers and classroom support staff
• Track student progress, complete documentation, and communicate results to families and team members
• Cultivate an inclusive, supportive, and well-managed classroom culture

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification, LBS1
• Past experience working with students with emotional disabilities, specific learning disabilities, and related needs
• Demonstrated skill in individualized instruction and support
• Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention abilities
• Collaborative, flexible, and committed to helping every student succeed
