Special Education Teacher - Elgin, IL

A rewarding opportunity is available for an Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students in a full-time resource role. This position is split between two schools, providing variety and the chance to make a meaningful impact across multiple learning environments. The successful candidate will work closely with students with special needs, helping to tailor educational approaches and ensure their academic progress.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet educational goals
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate students into general education settings when appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with parents and school personnel
• Participate in meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices in special education

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with special needs
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, strategies, and interventions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively across multiple school environments
