A rewarding opportunity is available for an Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students in a full-time resource role. This position is split between two schools, providing variety and the chance to make a meaningful impact across multiple learning environments. The successful candidate will work closely with students with special needs, helping to tailor educational approaches and ensure their academic progress.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet educational goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate students into general education settings when appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with parents and school personnel
- Participate in meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with special needs
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, strategies, and interventions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively across multiple school environments
Location: The role is based in Elgin, IL, and requires working across two schools, offering exposure to different school cultures and student populations.
