Special Education Teacher in Elgin, IL

Middle school students in need of resource or co-taught special education services are seeking a dedicated professional to guide and support them throughout the school year. This contract position runs from August 17th to May 28th, totaling 37.5 hours per week and serves a close-knit group of approximately 15 students.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold an active Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience in school-based special education settings, preferably at the middle school level
• Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs and differentiated instructional strategies
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with general education teachers and related service providers
• Adaptable to working without classroom assistants or paraprofessionals

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and co-taught instructional support to resource students
• Design engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs
• Monitor and document student progress in compliance with IEP goals
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate actively with staff to promote student achievement
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
