This role offers a blend of co-taught and resource classroom experiences for 8th grade students, with resource classes averaging 8-10 students for a more focused teaching environment. The school sites are located just minutes apart, and you will enjoy a varied and collaborative atmosphere by supporting both campuses.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing differentiated instruction and resource support to 8th grade students.
- Co-teaching in inclusive classrooms and managing small resource groups.
- Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to coordinate educational plans.
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Engaging in regular communication with families and staff to monitor student progress.
- Fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment in both school communities.
- Maintaining documentation and adhering to district and legal compliance requirements.
For this contract role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Professional credentials and state certification to teach Special Education at the middle school level.
- Experience with co-teaching models and resource classes, preferably with students in grades 6-8.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with colleagues.
- Flexibility traveling between two nearby campuses during the workday.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to helping each student achieve measurable academic growth.
Work hours are from 7:20 am to 2:50 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and until 3:05 pm on Wednesdays, with a 30-minute lunch daily, amounting to 35 hours per week. This assignment runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027; those onboarded before August can participate in a comprehensive new teacher orientation.
