Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in K-3 settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiation strategies
- Excellent classroom management skills and a compassionate, student-focused approach
- Proficiency in collaborating with families, support staff, and related service providers
- Ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction tailored to students’ unique needs and abilities
- Collaborate with general educators and therapeutic staff to ensure inclusion and appropriate support within the classroom
- Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and goals
- Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and ongoing training opportunities
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
