Key Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required)
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher, ideally in center-based programs focusing on Emotional Behavior Disorders
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral interventions, and positive classroom management strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to inclusive practices and nurturing the unique strengths of every student
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective and compassionate special education instruction to K-5 students with emotional and behavioral needs in a center-based classroom
- Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and update goals in accordance with district policies and state guidelines
- Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team—including general educators, counselors, and family members—to ensure holistic student success
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment tailored to support each learner’s academic and social-emotional growth
- Incorporate the school’s specialty focus in mathematics, science, and engineering into creative lesson planning and everyday instruction
