Make an impact supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a part-time contract role for the upcoming academic year. In this position, you'll work roughly 18 hours per week (0.5 FTE) during regular school days, with a start date of August 25, 2026, and an end date of June 10, 2027. You’ll provide instruction and support for an ABS caseload at the elementary level, fostering growth and success for your students.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Experience working with students with various disabilities, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work alongside colleagues, support staff, and families
- Passion for individualized instruction and inclusive practices
- Ability to maintain accurate student records and implement IEPs effectively
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instructional activities that accommodate individualized learning needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive classroom environments
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student growth and goals
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
