Special Education Teacher - Elk River, MN

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities in an elementary school setting. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity is a chance to provide essential educational services and contribute to each child’s growth and academic achievement.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Proven experience working with students who have developmental cognitive disabilities or similar special needs
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, IEP processes, and adapting general education curriculum to suit individual learning needs
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to maintain detailed records, support goal-setting, and conduct ongoing progress assessments

Responsibilities:

• Manage and instruct a caseload of approximately 9 students with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Develop, implement, and track progress on individual education plans (IEPs)
• Employ engaging, differentiated instructional methods to meet cognitive and behavioral goals
• Partner with paraprofessionals, school staff, and families to foster a supportive, inclusive environment
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and advocacy for student needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation reflecting student progress and compliance requirements
