Special Education Teacher | Elk River, Minnesota

Make a difference in the lives of students as a highly skilled Special Education Teacher, supporting learners with the most intensive needs. This contract opportunity runs from September 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with full-time hours Monday through Friday. Within a specialized Setting 4 environment, you'll work with elementary through high school students who present the highest degree of behavioral needs and significant disabilities.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Experience in Setting 4, high-needs or behavioral special education programs
• Ability to work effectively with students elementary through high school-aged
• Strong behavioral management, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills
• Dedication to personalized instruction and data-driven IEP development
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and service providers
• Willingness to contribute positively to a team-oriented environment

Your Role Will Include:

• Leading instruction and behavioral supports for a Setting 4 caseload
• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, service providers, and parents/guardians
• Fostering a safe, compassionate, and structured classroom environment
• Tracking progress and adapting interventions as needed
• Providing academic, functional, and behavioral support across different grade levels
