Special Education Teacher in Elk River, MN

Make a meaningful impact as a contract educator supporting young learners in early childhood special education. This long-term substitute opportunity offers the chance to work in a co-taught classroom setting with children ages 3-5. You will play a key role in providing specialized support and nurturing developmental growth.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Experience or strong interest in Early Childhood Special Education
• Skilled in adapting curriculum and lesson planning for young learners with diverse needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially in co-teaching environments
• Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction and individualized support to 3-5 year olds in alignment with IEP goals
• Collaborate closely with a co-teacher, related service providers, and families
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Foster an inclusive learning environment using evidence-based strategies
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent communication as needed
• Provide flexibility and creative problem-solving to support student growth
• Uphold confidentiality and all district and state regulations

This assignment is onsite, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, and extends from January through the end of the school year. As a valued team member, you will help young children develop foundational skills that set them up for lifelong success.
