Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Prior experience teaching students in K-6th grade strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of IEP processes, including writing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
• Strong communication and organizational skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families
• Ability to create and maintain a supportive, structured classroom environment for diverse learners
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students in a dedicated special education classroom
• Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), tracking progress toward academic and behavioral goals
• Plan and facilitate IEP meetings with families, staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance and advocacy for student needs
• Differentiate lessons and modify curricula to address a range of abilities and learning challenges
• Establish positive relationships with students, fostering a safe and inclusive classroom climate
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to optimize student outcomes
