Make an impact supporting young adults as a Special Education professional in a vocational transition program for 18–21-year-old female students. This contract position offers the opportunity to help learners who have aged out of traditional schooling achieve their IEP goals and progress toward greater independence.
This is a part-time role, 20–25 hours per week, scheduled Monday through Friday. Program time runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; additional time for planning and documentation can be logged from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The assignment begins in August or September, depending on your availability, and the director is seeking a long-term commitment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher license (required)
- Experience teaching transition-aged youth or young adults with special needs highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP implementation and progress monitoring
- Ability to tailor instruction and activities to individual goals
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Collaborative attitude and ability to uphold a positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily instruction, supporting educational and life skills per student IEPs
- Track, assess, and document student progress toward targeted goals
- Provide adapted lessons and activities tailored to diverse learning styles
- Foster an encouraging, inclusive environment focused on independence and growth
- Maintain accurate program records and collaborate with district and program staff
- Support a safe, respectful setting for all participants
