Special Education Teacher - Ellaville, GA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher in a self-contained classroom serving K-5 students. This full-time position begins as soon as possible and runs through May 7th. You’ll have the support of two paraprofessionals and work with a manageable caseload of eight students, allowing for meaningful, individualized instruction.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification with an adaptive curriculum endorsement required
• Experience teaching or supporting students in a self-contained setting preferred
• Strong understanding of K-5 developmental and academic needs
• Ability to create and adapt curriculum to individualized learning plans
• Collaborative, communicative approach to partnering with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
• Professional, positive attitude and a passion for helping all learners succeed

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to a small group of K-5 students with varying exceptionalities in a self-contained environment
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Utilize adaptive curriculum resources to modify lessons according to student needs and IEP goals
• Cultivate a supportive, structured classroom community in collaboration with two paraprofessionals
• Engage families in their student’s progress and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
• Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation
