Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (SPED)
• Experience supporting high school students with autism preferred
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction, IEP development, and implementation
• Patient, adaptable, and committed to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom
• Comfortable assisting with toileting or personal care as needed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with autism
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), tracking student progress
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—case managers, therapists, aides, and families—to support each student’s success
• Foster a classroom environment that is positive, structured, and engaging
• Assist with daily living and personal care activities as needed to ensure students’ comfort, safety, and dignity
• Encourage self-advocacy, independence, and social skills development
