Special Education Teacher - Ellicott City, Maryland

You will work collaboratively with other educators, families, and support staff to tailor instructional strategies, create individualized education programs (IEPs), and implement classroom modifications to empower each student. Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• State certification/licensure as a Special Education Teacher
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Previous experience in a school setting, especially with IEP development and implementation
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet the varying needs of students

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging lessons to students with special needs
• Develop, update, and execute individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Assess, track, and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that promotes growth and independence
• Participate in team meetings and professional development
