Make a difference in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time, contract position serving grades 2 through 5. Located near Elma, WA, this role offers an opportunity to help students with diverse learning needs reach their potential in a supportive school environment.
As a key member of the educational team, you’ll manage a caseload of approximately 30–35 students. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and areas for growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, accommodations, and modifications
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet varied learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for students in grades 2–5
- Assess student progress and update goals in alignment with IEP objectives
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports related to student performance
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Partner with families and staff to ensure a holistic approach to student support
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-based teams
