Step into a rewarding contract role making a direct impact on young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting a K-2 multi-needs classroom. This full-time, in-person assignment runs from August 1st to September 23rd, with the potential for extension. You’ll lead a self-contained setting for four students with significant disabilities, providing a supportive and inclusive environment that nurtures each child's growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience teaching K-2 or similar early childhood groups
- Demonstrated skill supporting students with significant or multiple needs
- Comfort and ability to plan and adapt lessons for individualized instruction
- Strong classroom management, patience, and clear communication
- Capacity to collaborate with paraprofessionals, families, and related service providers
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver differentiated instruction and individualized learning plans
- Foster a nurturing and structured classroom environment
- Implement IEPs and document progress toward educational goals
- Communicate effectively with families and the educational team
- Adapt teaching materials and strategies to each student’s unique needs
- Ensure a safe, positive atmosphere that encourages participation and growth
