Special Education Teacher - Emporia, Kansas

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success.
• Adapt and modify curriculum and instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, including progress monitoring and reporting.
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and other school initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid Kansas Special Education teaching license.
• Strong instructional and behavioral management skills.
• Experience with high school students, preferred.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans tailored to individual needs.
• Effective communicator with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Dedicated to fostering student growth in both academic and social-emotional areas.
