Bring your expertise in behavior support to school communities as a Behavioral Specialist for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work hands-on with K-12 students across multiple districts, making a meaningful impact on their social-emotional and behavioral growth.

Use your skills in Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development, and implementation of data-driven strategies to support students facing behavioral challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with educators, families, and staff, providing direct interventions, coaching, and training to facilitate positive school environments. Your day-to-day work will include crisis intervention assistance and using research-based practices to help every student achieve success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Kansas State Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement
  • Background in school psychology, social work, or school counseling preferred
  • Prior experience as a school-based behavior specialist, BCBA, or similar highly valued
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct FBAs, develop BIPs, and support social-emotional needs
  • Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and communicating with parents and staff
  • Experience delivering professional development or coaching on behavioral strategies
  • Strong organizational skills to manage an itinerant caseload across multiple districts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct behavioral assessments and develop intervention plans
  • Deliver direct interventions and model best practices for staff
  • Participate in crisis intervention and provide staff guidance
  • Analyze behavioral data and adjust interventions as needed
  • Offer training/support to cultivate positive school climates

You’ll work 35 hours per week onsite, travelling between school sites, and play a vital part in students’ educational experiences.
