Special Education Teacher - Emporia, Kansas

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide expert instruction in an onsite, full-time contract role serving an Early Childhood & Elementary Intensive skills caseload (including classrooms for students with autism). This opportunity offers a professionally rewarding experience with consistent support throughout your contract.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Kansas Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
• Experience working with early childhood or elementary students, preferably in an intensive skills and/or autism support setting
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Professional, compassionate, and team-oriented approach

Role Responsibilities:

• Teach and support students in Early Childhood and Elementary autism/intensive needs classrooms
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to optimize student outcomes
• Collect data and maintain accurate records for student progress and program compliance
• Implement evidence-based instructional methods and behavioral support strategies
• Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment that promotes growth and learning
