Qualifications and Required Experience:

• Current Multi-Categorical Special Education certification in South Carolina (required)
• Previous experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children with diverse learning needs

• Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable teaching approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver tailored instructional activities for K-3 students in a self-contained setting
• Create a positive, structured, and safe classroom climate
• Assess students’ abilities, progress, and needs, and update IEPs as necessary in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrative personnel
• Engage with families to keep them informed and involved in their child’s educational journey
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required
