You’ll lead a small group of 5 students, each of whom benefits from dedicated 1:1 paraprofessional support, allowing you to focus on delivering individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Special Education Teacher, or eligibility to obtain
- Experience with autism spectrum disorder and significant behavioral challenges preferred
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills, especially in a classroom supported by paraprofessionals
- Effective communication and documentation abilities
- Capacity to create and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction tailored to individual student needs, aligned with IEP goals
- Implement behavioral support plans and utilize evidence-based strategies for classroom management
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of paraprofessionals to maximize student outcomes
- Maintain ongoing communication with families, related service providers, and school staff
- Accurately track student progress and document improvements or emerging needs
- Foster a supportive, safe, and structured classroom environment
