Key Qualifications:

  • Active Vermont Special Educator license, or ability to obtain VT licensure through transfer
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a high school setting
  • Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), assessments, and accommodations
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Capability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
  • Deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with best practices in special education
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom experiences
  • Communicate regularly with families, support staff, and administration regarding student progress and needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
