Special Education Teacher in Estill, SC

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher working with a small, dedicated group of students in an elementary resource classroom. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to inspire growth and success among 3rd to 5th graders, supporting seven students during the upcoming school year.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with staff, develop individualized education plans, and create a nurturing learning environment tailored to each child's unique needs. You'll play a key part in helping students reach their full academic and personal potential while working within a supportive educational community.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Previous experience with elementary-aged students, preferably in a resource classroom or similar setting
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
• Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Dedication to developing an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and intervention to 3rd to 5th-grade students (7 total) within a small resource classroom
• Develop, implement, and track individualized education plans to ensure student growth
• Modify curriculum and assignments as needed to meet diverse learning needs
• Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with parents and colleagues
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusive practices
• Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development activities

As you support the academic journey of each student, you’ll build valuable relationships and make a tangible impact. This contract position is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week for the 26/27 school year.
