Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! This contract opportunity runs from August 17th through May 28th and offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You'll work in a vibrant K-8 setting, guiding and empowering students through a resource caseload, making a positive impact in their academic journey.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (appropriate for K-8)
- Experience working with resource caseloads strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of individualized education plan (IEP) processes and compliance
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude with a student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the academic and behavioral goals outlined in students’ IEPs
- Develop, implement, and monitor lesson plans and instructional strategies
- Work closely with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and provide accommodations
- Liaise with families and multidisciplinary teams to foster student growth
- Track progress and maintain thorough documentation in alignment with school and state requirements
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
